Fear of Regret
Fear of Regret
In this life we only live for a certain amount of time, some shorter than others, that is why I feel the need to soak up every moment and live to the fullest. I don't want to regret not doing things just because I was afraid or too lazy in the moment.
There are so many experiences this life has to offer to just sit in a room and wait for something to happen when you are in control of what you are doing. I know of people who are stuck in a world where they go to work, come back home, lay down, wake up, and repeat the next day after. It is a scary thought to me to think that I can be that person in the future. A system has been created by some where that is all you do, work...eat...sleep, when in fact you can pursue for more.
To bring it into a different viewpoint the average age of death one lives to be is around 75 years. Once Eddie Murphy actually put it into perspective that it is just 75 summers we have to live our life. Of course there are some that live many more but that is just an estimate. Hearing that from Eddie Murphy really hit me, I'm 18 so that means I've basically lived a quarter of my life, which I try not to think much about. There is so much love and happiness one can bring to others. So many in need that we can help out by volunteering. There are so many places we haven't seen and can travel too. Many new people that will come into our lives sooner or later and many more experiences. When I get old I want to be able to say I lived to the fullest, took new chances, took risks and new opportunities.
Do you fear that you will regret many things?
Your post was very inspiring especially because you added the average age of death which was an eye opener! Great post
ReplyDeleteI really liked when you said that life is too short to just sit around and wait for things to happen. I believe that in order to succeed we have to go for it and start our own journeys. great post!!
