Fear of Spiders
For a while I lived in Mexico with my grandma, her house was and still is filled with spiders. So, there has been many instances where a spider had crawled up my body or dropped down from the ceiling onto me. Many aren't bothered by spiders, but they have never been a friend of mine and it is very hard to be around one without screaming.
The thought of spiders biting people or how venomous they can be is not so much of the frightening part. The more frightening part is the way they look, their tiny body with their eight long legs popping out is just very freaky. Then they are able to move very fast, very suddenly for no reason at all. If they are just standing their normally, with one hand movement, they are running at you full speed and all their eight legs are moving rapidly which looks very odd and will send shivers down my spine. Then there is the fact that they are very small creatures, so, if you have one around your room and all of a sudden, they moved from the spot where they were at, it will be very hard to find them. Living with my grandma, I had to deal with that all the time and it created this fear in me of not knowing. The fact that I didn't have knowledge of where they hid terrified me because they could be laying right next to me, and I couldn't see them.
I have come to a conclusion that if spiders were more friendly looking, then I would not have a problem with them but that is not the case. Yes, a lot won't do anything to you, but one can never know looking at them.
Are you afraid of spiders?
